An antique book with lace stitch patterns

Iwould love to share with you my recent find - an antique book "The Ladies' Guide to Elegant Lace Patterns, Etc." by Eva Marie Niles, published in 1884.

Whilst this book is technically out of print, it can be downloaded for free online. A large number of patterns from the book are also available for free online in an updated format for modern knitters.

Lace yarn for the Robin's Nest shawl

Sense the Madelinetosh has discontinued their tosh lace yarn, which I used for two of my designs - Robin's Nest and Evanston , I have decided to produce a replica of it. And here is my first one.

This fine yarn spun from the finest merino fiber. It would be ideal choice for Robin's Nest shawl. Kettle dyed it's super soft and has a slightly variegated light mint color.

Color: Mint.
Weight: lace (2 Ply).
Fibers: 100% Fine Merino Wool.
Yardage: 1000 yds / 914 m.
Gauge: 32 sts = 4 in
Needles: US 1 (2.25 mm).
Skein weight: 3.2 oz / 92 g.
